Comtoise Tachometer is an artwork that questions ownership.
A French clockbuilder made the Comtoise in the 19th century, I redesigned or hacked it. My intervention changed the use of the device. The user can put a tachometer-card in the center of the mechanism. By turning the key of the clockwork and readjusting the pens and scratchers the machine will create a unique drawing each time.
The user can take out the card, sign and date it on the lines in the centre and take the selfmade peace of art home.
